The Tongariro Alpine Crossing is considered one of the best one-day walks in the whole world. But why do only one day when you have the option to walk the Northern Circuit which is a 2-3 days walk? Hell yeah, that's what I thought too!
Being one of New Zealand great rides, the Rimutaka Cycle Trail is a great option for a weekend getaway just right outside of Wellington. The official trail starts from Petone but we took the train to Lower Hutt and skip the first bit. In exchange we finished the ride in Eastbourne instead of finishing at the Orongorongo Station.

Home to one of the earliest Māori settlements in history, and with a current population of only 380 people, Stewart Island is home to one of the best walks in New Zealand, the "North West Circuit".
Mount Ruapehu is one of the most iconic mountains of New Zealand. With its highest peak at 2,797 meters, it's the highest point in the North Island. I first visited the area in the winter of 2014. Ever since, the idea of giving it a try on snowy conditions was going around my mind. But it wasn't until the end of October that my mate Andy and I finally decided to give it a go.
