PFWRA site goes live
A website I have been working on and off during the past few months, Pest Free Waitākere Ranges Alliance (PFWRA), went live recently. The site can be found at https://pfwra.org.nz

The alliance is an umbrella organisation for community groups that do environmental work in the Waitākeres. The main focus of the site is to showcase the different groups and their work, making it easy for anyone interested to join them. The site provides an array or resources to the groups which hopefully will make their life easier.
Local UX designer J. Kelleher was in charge of the design and most of the front-end is based on the Bulma CSS framework. Most of the photography is courtesy of Auckland-based environmentalist and talented wildlife photographer Shaun Lee. The pictures were chosen to celebrate the rich biodiversity found in the ranges.
The site is built with Wagtail, a Django-based CMS and it is nicely integrated with the following services:
- Redis
- Celery
- ElasticSearch
- AWS S3
I hope that in one way or another, the site will support the preservation and restoration of the native fauna and flora of the ranges, a place that holds a special place in my heart :-)
